THE HOLISTIC APPROACH TO MATERIAL HANDLING

The origins of Jungheinrich forklifts dates back to the post-war reconstruction of the German infrastructure and economy The H. Jungheinrich & Co. Maschineenfabrik was established in Hamburg in 1953. The company introduced the first electric four-wheel lift truck and by 1956 had developed its first reach truck, “Retrak” – a milestone for space-saving storage. During the next few years, Jungheinrich continued designing and producing innovative truck models for the material handling industry while expanding its operations throughout Europe. By 1968, they had established a reputation for attention to logistics – not simply the manufacture of machinery. Space constraints in warehouses guided their design engineers to respond with appropriate lift machine models, such as the new high-stacking and narrow-aisle truck ETX, which significantly improved the utilization of warehouse height.

By 1972, the company responded to a recognized need by developing its first order picking machine. By 1984 Jungheinrich was a recognized leader in automated order picking equipment throughout Europe.  In 1995, the company premiered the first reach truck with a central control lever “Multi-Pilot.” In 1999, they reached the milestone of having produced 2,500,000 hand pallet trucks. In 2000 they announced the establishment of Jungheinrich Lift Truck Corp., USA.  In 2005 Jungheinrich presented the world’s first rotating cabin lift truck to the industry.  By 2011 the company had established its presence in China, after almost 60 years of growth and worldwide expansion. 

Jungheinrich is acclaimed as Number One in forklift and system technology in Europe and has evolved from a producer of material handling equipment to a manufacturing logistics service provider. It is also the third largest supplier of forklift trucks in the world. Electric Counterbalanced Forklift Trucks. Due to their fully-enclosed motors and electronic systems, Jungheinrich® counterbalanced forklifts are tailor-made for indoor and outdoor use. Turret Trucks. The EKX and EFX turret truck series represents Jungheinrich’s outstanding high-rack systems trucks with stacking heights up to 561 inches. The EKX man-up turret truck is a good example of efficient operation with faster order picking and stacking, allowing the operator to retrieve entire pallets as well as stack individual items in less time.

Order Pickers. Jungheinrich offers a wide range of order pickers that are both economical and productive – helping to lower your overall cost of operation and maximize your total picks per hour. The EKS 110 vertical order picker with a capacity of 2,200 lbs., offers high performance levels and precise handling.  With load capacities up to 2,200 lbs. and order picking heights up to 236 inches, the EKS 208 order picker is specially designed for flexibility in wide aisles. The EKS 308 series with 3,000 lbs. load capacity and order picking heights up to 402 inches offers high throughput performance.

Walkie Pallet Trucks.
